BGE is holding an open house on the Maryland Line to High Ridge Project (Tri-County Transmission Upgrade, PSC Case 9884). So far they have mainly notified adjacent property owners. Many more residents in Harford, Baltimore, and Howard Counties could be affected, including by taller structures and possible FAA-required lighting.

The projectd includes a new 59-miles 500 kV line from the MD/PA line to the High Ridge Substation, plus rebuilds of existing 500 kV lines in the current right-of-way. Construction is anticipated from late 2027 through 2030.
